Factors Affecting the Performance of Chamber Filter Press

The filter chamber of the chamber filter press is composed of two adjacent sunken filter plates. The working principle of the chamber filter press is to arrange filter plates to form a filter chamber. The advantages of the chamber filter press include fast filtration speed, high-temperature resistance, high-pressure resistance, good sealing performance, uniform filter cake washing, low water content, and uniform pressure in each filter chamber. Chamber filter presses are basically suitable for all solid-liquid separation industries. So what are the factors that affect the performance of the box filter press?

1. Feed pressure

Feed pressure is the main factor affecting the filtration effect of chamber filter press. The filter press mainly realizes the function of filtering through the control and adjustment of pressure. So the quality of the pressure system is directly related to the quality of the filtration effect.

2. Filtration speed

Filtration speed is another important factor affecting the performance of the filter press. The use speed of the machine should be properly distributed according to different factors such as the concentration and resistance of the liquid.

3. Filter area

The filter area of the filter press is directly related to the working rate of the filter press, that is, the processing speed of the filter press. The larger the effective filtration area of the filter press, the higher the ability to filter and separate the mixed liquid per unit time, and the greater the amount of filtration and separation, which also improves the applicable efficiency of the filter press.

4. The particle size composition of the pulp

The impact of the particle size composition of the incoming slurry on the filtration rate mainly depends on the content of fine-grained materials. The higher the content, the larger the specific surface area (S0) of the material, and the lower the filtration speed.

5. Pulp concentration

The feeding pulp concentration directly affects the filtration speed, especially in the feeding stage. The higher the pulp concentration, the higher the solid particle content, and the faster the formation of filter cake.
