Improved Deep Cone Thickener Structure

Deep cone thickeners improve concentration efficiency by increasing the particle size and settling area of solid particles, combined with the use of flocculants. In addition, the high-efficiency thickener is equipped with an automatic control system that can precisely control the amount of flocculant added, the underflow concentration, and the height of the compression layer, ensuring stable operation and efficient thickening effect.

Deep cone thickener structure

The deep cone thickener mainly consists of a thickening tank, bridge frame, transmission device, stirring device, material distribution device, degassing device, and electrical control device. The cable tray is installed on the thickener. The drive unit is mounted on the cable tray, and the agitator is connected to the lower part of the drive unit. A material distribution device is installed at the lower part of the cable tray. When the transmission device rotates, it drives the stirring device to rotate, and the settled material automatically flows to the sludge collection pit of the thickener and is discharged by the underflow pump.

Increasing the particle size of solid particles in the slurry and the settling area of the thickener can improve the thickener’s processing capacity. Adding flocculants to a thickener causes fine particles to agglomerate, thereby increasing the particle size of the settled particles. Placing an inclined plate inside a conventional thickener increases the settling area, shortens the settling distance of particles, and improves concentration efficiency. Actual production shows that, with the same processing capacity, the diameter of a high-efficiency thickener is only two-thirds to one-half that of a regular thickener, and its floor space is about one-ninth to one-quarter that of a regular thickener, while the processing capacity per unit area can be increased several times to dozens of times.
