The Difference Between Spiral Chute And Spiral Concentrator
The main difference between a spiral chute and a spiral concentrator is the cross-sectional shape of the spiral trough. The cross-sectional shape of the spiral trough of the spiral chute is a cubic parabola, and the bottom of the trough is wide and flat. It is suitable for sorting finer ore and ore slime, and the general sorting size range is 0.02~0.5mm. The cross-sectional shape of the spiral trough of the spiral concentrator is approximately elliptical, which is suitable for sorting coarser iron ore, and the general sorting size range is 0.074~2mm.
A spiral chute is widely used in the separation of hematite, recovery of heavy minerals in tailings, and separation of rare metals and non-ferrous metal minerals. It has its own running parts, does not consume power, and has advantages such as a small equipment footprint and large processing capacity. However, the equipment’s height difference is large, and a sand pump is often required to lift the slurry before feeding the ore. In addition, the concentrate grade is slightly lower.
The spiral concentrator is for ore less than 6mm. The machine can control the feeding amount well, and the ore washing is dispersed from the inner edge, which can effectively solve the problems of low ore recovery rate and uneven washing. In addition, the concentrate yield of this series of spiral ore washing machines is adjusted by rotating the active scraper of the interceptor, which can be flexibly controlled.
How to distinguish between the spiral chute and the spiral concentrator?
Both spiral concentrator and spiral chute are spiral concentrator equipment, with the same separation principle and similar equipment structure.
1. The cross-sectional line of the bottom of the spiral concentrator is a part of a parabola or an ellipse, while the cross-sectional line of the bottom of the spiral chute is a cubic parabola. Therefore, the bottom of the spiral chute is wide and gentle, which is more suitable for processing fine-grained materials.
2. The use steps are different. The spiral concentrator intercepts the concentrate at the top and collects the tailings at the end of the trough. The spiral chute collects the tailings at the end of the trough.
3. The usage is different. Washing water is added during the production of the piral concentrator, but not in the spiral chute.
