Quarry Wash Plant

Quarry wash plant improves sand and gravel quality, enables resource recycling, and meets environmental protection production requirements. A quarry wash plant typically includes three main systems: washing, recycling, and wastewater treatment. The quarry wash plant is mainly responsible for cleaning the crushed and screened sand to remove mud, stone powder and impurities, thereby obtaining high-quality finished sand.

Quarry wash plant workflow

1. Washing and dehydration

Washing and dehydration are the core processes of a quarry wash plant.

Through water flow and mechanical agitation, the sand particles grind against each other, removing mud, stone powder, and other impurities. Then the sand passes through a dewatering screen to remove a large amount of water.

2. Fine sand recycling

The tailwater discharged from the washing and dewatering process contains a large amount of valuable fine sand. This tailwater is pumped to a fine sand recovery machine. The equipment recovers the fine sand (especially particles smaller than 0.2 mm) lost in the tailwater and dewaters it again, sending it to the stockpile as a valuable byproduct.

3. Wastewater purification

Wastewater is fed into a thickening tank. This is a thickening device that uses the principle of gravity sedimentation. The sludge settles down and becomes thicker, while the clear water on top overflows. The thickened sludge is then pumped out, ready for further processing.

4. Pressed into cake

The concentrated slurry is fed into a chamber filter press. Under high pressure, the slurry is pressed into slurry cakes that can be dry-piled and easily transported, while the squeezed-out water becomes very clear.
