Factors Affecting The Processing Efficiency Of Belt Filter Press

The key indicators for judging the performance of a belt filter press are the sludge volume and sludge discharge speed. Belt filter press sludge removal is a dynamic process. The following factors affect the sludge output and discharge speed.

Factors affecting the processing efficiency of the belt filter press

1. Sludge moisture content

When the sludge moisture content is below 98.5%, the sludge discharge rate is faster. When the moisture content is below 95%, the sludge loses its fluidity, which is not conducive to sludge pressing. Moisture content is affected by the volume of the thickening tank and the settling performance of the sludge.

2. Activated sludge ratio

Activated sludge particles are relatively large, making it easier to separate free water after mixing with PAM. When the proportion of anaerobic nitrification sludge is high, the solid-liquid separation effect is poor, the water permeability of the filter cloth is low, and the output of the filter press is reduced.

3. PAM concentration

Adding too much or too little PAM will affect the sludge pressing effect. Excessive concentration can clog the filter cloth, while insufficient concentration will prevent effective separation of free water. Low-concentration PAM can reduce the dosage and decrease the sludge moisture content.

4. Filter cloth permeability and mesh count

The permeability of the filter cloth directly affects the sludge discharge rate, and the filter cloth needs to be washed regularly to maintain its permeability. The mesh size of the filter cloth affects the sludge dewatering effect, and the appropriate type must be selected.

5. Filter press stability

The equipment has a complex structure. Stable operation of each component is crucial, and the design should not be altered lightly.

6. Running parameters

Improper settings of parameters such as filter cloth speed, tension, and rinsing water pressure can affect the dewatering effect.

7. Sludge types and mixing ratios

The mixing ratio of primary sludge and residual sludge will affect the dewatering effect. The higher the proportion of residual sludge, the worse the dewatering effect.
